About Skate School Santa Fe

Skate School Santa Fe was started in 2001. Since then we have put on over 50 sanctioned races, contests, and other events. Our team riders and graduates have gone on to compete in and win events all over the U.S., Canada, Europe, and as far away as Australia.

Skate School Santa Fe and TimeShip Racing were started by Joe Lehm in 2001. Joe started skating in 1969 at the age of 8 and started racing slalom & downhill in 1976 at the age of 14. Our indoor facility features a 36 ft. wide bowled ramp, quarter pipes, banks, boxes, street terrain, a skateboard museum, and a fully equipped pro shop. Our certified instructors teach group or private lessons for all ages, we host monthly events like Film Nights and Contests, and we offer many different Summer Camps, Race Camps, and Field Trips. We also offer instructor training and certification.

At Skate School Santa Fe, we always start our students off with the safety equipment, skills, and drills that they need to progress without getting hurt. Falling is a given in this sport, so we encourage riders to get used to it. The difference between Falling and Crashing is the most important skill to learn because if you`re not falling you are not pushing yourself, and that is a big part of progressing.

At our school, we teach all-around skateboarding skills and the importance of learning the fundamentals of traditional skateboarding. Time and again we've seen good bowl or street skaters become great after developing skills in other skateboard disciplines like downhill or freestyle.

Living and training in a skateboard paradise has certainly helped too, and we continue to put on challenging and fun events right here in New Mexico.
